About course lifecycle status

NOTE: Depending on your permissions, you may not be able to build courses, deploy courses, or change their status. If you think you need a different level of access, talk to your Strivr Account Executive.

The lifecycle of courses allows you to make multiple drafts of a course and include a testing phase, so you can be sure content is only recommended for deployment to headsets when it has been reviewed by your team.

When you first create a course, it is considered a draft. Then it moves to In Testing. Then, it moves to Approved, so it is approved for deployment to learner headsets. You can move an approved course back to the In Testing phase. You can create a new draft version of a published course. You can also archive a published course at any time, removing it from the list of courses available for deployment.

When you’re ready for a course to be reviewed by your testing team, open the course from the Courses page and click Publish. Publishing a course moves it into the In Testing status. You will be required to add some notes describing the content in this version of the course.

NOTE: The Publish command is not available until all required fields are filled out and the course contains at least one module and one experience.

After the course is reviewed and is ready to be deployed to learner headsets, the reviewer can open the course from the Courses page and click Approve.
