Editing audio

Use the WorkWise audio editing tool to edit existing audio or to re-record audio over your uploaded video.

This feature gives you the ability to re-record audio for any uploaded videos from directly within the WorkWise web app. You can re-record just certain snippets or you can re-record the entire thing.

To re-record audio for a video, click into the video page, select the 3-dot menu, and click “Edit audio”.

Clicking “Edit audio” will take you to the video editor where you can start re-recording audio.

Please note: to use this feature, your computer must have a microphone available for use - either built-in or an external microphone like a webcam, for example.

To test your microphone audio or select a different microphone if you have multiple devices connected, click the microphone dropdown.

To begin recording new audio, simply click the red “Record voiceover…” button. By default, the video will start from the beginning so if you want to re-record over the entire existing audio track, you can just click the button. However, if you only want to re-record certain sections that may not be starting from the beginning, you can use the red sliders bar in the timeline view to seek to a specific part of the video first before you begin recording.

The transcript of the original audio on the right-hand side of the page is meant to act as a reference as you re-record new audio. You can still use the search bar to find specific moments in the video, and click on the snippets to seek to that part of the video directly. There is also a “Directions” tab next to the transcript tab that shows instructions and tips on how to use this audio editing tool.

After you record one or more sections of new audio, you can play the video back to hear how it sounds. If you need to re-record again, you can simply click on a section of newly-recorded audio and click “Delete” to remove it.

Once you are done re-recording audio, click the “Save” button.

Please note: Saving a video with a new audio track will cause the video to re-process. This is so that our platform can generate the new transcript, summary, work instructions, etc. based off of the new audio track that you created. If the video was previously in the “Approved” state, it will move back to “Pending Review” after processing completes.
